Derek Chauvin’s case: A live review of the death of George Floyd

As evidence in Derek Chauvin’s murder case against George Floyd’s death enters its third week on Monday, the prosecutor is expected to repeat his trial earlier in the week.
Evidence last week included Dr. Andrew Baker, a Hennepin County Medical Examiner who performed Floyd’s tests. B Baker described how law enforcement, oppression and necks caused Floyd’s death and said he still believed the way Floyd was killed was murder.
Rich says he has a “high medical truth” Floyd was not killed by drug overdose
In his testimony, cardiologist Dr. Jonathan Rich confirmed much of what other medical professionals who have been prosecuted by the prosecutor for George Floyd’s death say.
“After reviewing all the facts of the case, I can say with high medical confidence that George Floyd did not die of a heart attack and did not die of drug overdose,” Rich said.
“I felt very confident that Mr. Floyd has three medical problems, ”adds Rich: high blood pressure, anxiety and substance abuse, but there was no evidence of heart disease.
Rich believes it was low oxygen, created by police restraint, that led to Floyd’s death.
The judge denied the judge’s recommendation following a police shooting
A judge in the Derek Chauvin murder case ruled on Monday not to use the judges in the case following protests in Minnesota over a police shooting by a Black man.
Hennepin County County Judge Peter Cahill denied the defendants’ application to plead guilty in Monday morning following civil unrest after Daunte Wright, 20, was shot dead by police on Sunday while standing on suspicion of criminal misconduct. Wright’s death, just a few kilometers from the death of George Floyd, involved a police brutality incident that also led to protests and unrest in the state.
Defense attorney Eric Nelson objected to the “broader public turmoil” and worried that judges might rule on these incidents should lead to judges being taken. The prosecutor was opposed to the proposal.
While denying the request, Cahill said, “this is a completely different case.”
The judge added that such an application would have the effect of contesting the intended outcome if the judge was not suddenly acquitted and believed that there was a serious threat to their safety due to the recent turmoil.
“It would be a different matter if there were civil unrest following another decision, in which a judge could see whether the outcome of a particular decision could be in the same case, but it is not,” he said.
Cahill said the judge would be acquitted after the end of the evidence and both sides would begin their closing statements.
MSNBC legal analyst Paul Butler said Chavin’s defense had never given real hope that the jorors were sent to a hotel room during trial – but instead applied as insurance policy. Asking for “judges to be deprived of property is the way in which they are accused … that could keep the matter at bay,” Butler said.
Cardiologist Jonathan Rich took up the post Monday as the first witness in the third week of evidence in the Derek Chauvin case.
Rich works at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and is an associate professor at Northwestern University.
Rich will be giving his opinion on how he believes George Floyd is dead.
