In a new documentary exploring the life of one of the year’s biggest artists, Lil’ Baby, it appeared as though the performing artist never actually considered being an MC. Hot New Hip Hop picked up on the new docu-series this year in which Lil Baby reportedly said that he didn’t always want to be a rapper.
Reportedly, Lil’ Baby will accept his award for Artist Of The Year from Apple Music, and the documentary mentioned above will come along with it, show-casing his life story and how he came to prominence in the music industry.

Lil’ Baby says in the film’s trailer that the first time he ever went to jail was when he was 13-year-old. Lil’ Baby said he dropped out of school sometime between the 10th and 9th grade, but he never actually envisioned himself as a performing artist.
Lil’ Baby went on to say in the documentary that when he got out of jail for the first time, he had a lot more to say and he became an artist for the people. The rapper said, “and now it’s finally time to tell my story,” after thanking his fans, friends, and family members for supporting him from the beginning.

As it was noted above, it was a big year for Lil’ Baby following the release of a successful record and numerous accolades. Lil’ Baby has had to share the limelight with a number of other big artists in 2020, including Megan Thee Stallion and Saweetie.

The rapper didn’t appear to be too bothered by the controversy, however.
