The search for a missing Louisiana State University student Kori Gauthier on the Mississippi River, where the 18-year-old boy was last seen three days ago, continues.

The United Cajun Navy, a non-profit organization that provides search, rescue and disaster relief, organized a team of cavalry and ATV volunteers on Saturday morning to continue the search for Gauthier on both sides of the river. On Friday, more than 300 volunteers took part in the search for the first-year college student.

LSU police, the missing person’s investigation center, said Gauthier’s car was found empty at the scene of the crash.

Baton Rouge police “responded to Horace Wilkinson Bridge about a reported accident involving a parked car” just after midnight on Wednesday, according to the organization.

“When we arrived the officer saw that the parked car was unoccupied. The officer immediately took action to remove it from the road to prevent any collision. The owner of the unregistered vehicle was not contacted, but the investigation continued,” said Baton Rouge. police said in a statement.

LSU police said Gauthier is 5 meters, 5 inches tall and weighs between 115 to 120 kilograms. She has dark brown hair and brown eyes.

Spencer Gauthier, Kori’s uncle, thanked everyone for “donating his time” to finding his nephew, he told WVLA.

LSU students also organized a prayer service on Friday night to show their support for the family during a difficult time.

“As a student, I feel I have to do something. As if there is no way I can just let go of this without being down and trying to do something to help, ”Bria Joseph, a first-year student at the vigil, told WVLA.

In a Twitter series on Saturday morning, Louisiana State University said they were working “in partnership with law enforcement officials and volunteers across the region” as they continued to investigate Gauthier’s disappearance and search for her.

“The LSU Police Department communicates with Kori’s parents and keeps them updated and informed everywhere, including details of sharing that, out of respect for family privacy and to protect the integrity of the investigation, are shared by the general public,” the university said.
