Phoenix Suns vs. Utah Jazz Preview and Prediction (December 31)

The Phoenix Suns opened the season very well, suggesting that they could finally reach the playoffs after a long, long time. Meanwhile, Utah Jazz started their campaign well, and their ambitions are a bit higher than the Suns’. The franchise from Salt Lake City wants to take a step forward in the playoffs and overcome the first round, which was their final reach over the past two years.

Phoenix Suns
Monty Williams and his boys opened the season with three wins and a loss against the Kings in Sacramento. However, after that failure, the Suns immediately responded, beating the same rivals a day later.
The other two victories came against the Dallas Mavs and the New Orleans Pelicans, both teams who should be in the playoffs. This means that the Suns’ fans have reasons to hope to see the postseason.

Chris Paul’s guidance of this young team gave results, and right now, Phoenix has seven players with 10 or more points, which makes them extremely lethal in the offense. Plus, Cameron Payne has 9.8. As for Paul, he leads the team in assists with 9.5 per game and adds 11.8 points per night.
Utah Jazz
Interestingly, the Jazzers won both of their road games, against the Trail Blazers and the OKC Thunder, but lost at home to Minnesota Timberwolves. Pretty odd, wouldn’t you say.
Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley started the season strong, both leading the Jazzers in scoring. Mitchell has 20.3 points, while on the other side, Conley has 19.3 bt with 6.3 boards and five assists.

In each of the three games played, they scored at least 111 points, keeping the same play philosophy from the previous years. Head coach Quinn Snyder is one of the best in the league, and since he sat on Utah’s bench, the 54-year old established himself as one of the masters for offensive schemes, even though the Jazzers aren’t efficient as some other teams in the NBA.
Prediction and Pick
The Suns are playing well, but against the Jazz in Salt Lake, their prospects for winning are not that great. It is a reality. Utah’s loss to Minnesota was primarily because of underestimating the opponent, because there is no logic in losing to one of the worst teams in the league, and on the other side, beating two solid units on the road in the meantime.
