The governor of Michigan is calling for the suspension of high school and youth sports classes
Faced with the highest rate of new coronavirus infections, Michigan County Governor Gretchen Whitmer on Friday called for a two-week suspension of high school classrooms, all youth games and indoor restaurants.
He stopped limiting orders, instead asked for voluntary compliance to reduce the spread of Covid-19.
High schools should switch to physical learning, youth and non-school sports games should be suspended, people should choose outdoor food or take the place of indoor chairs, and should avoid meeting friends in the house, he said.
“We must do this together. Life depends on it, ”Whitmer said during a press conference, and called on residents to be vaccinated. “We are going to have some difficult weeks ahead. So please everyone – please, take this seriously. ”

The governor has refused to reinstate restrictions such as staying at home or being banned from house meals, public education and youth sports games criticized by Republican lawyers. The need for masks remains, as do the power limits and elevators in collection sizes.
“It is not a policy issue that we have and the many rules and regulations we face as a state,” he said.
But he did not restrict the limits of tomorrow, saying that there was nothing missing from the table.
“At the moment, we think it’s important for people to understand how critical this moment is,” he said.
Whitmer’s recommendation to temporarily close high schools received mixed reactions from academic circles.
The Michigan Education Association, the largest teachers’ union in government, has encouraged similar action in elementary schools, community colleges, and universities. But the Great Lakes Education Project, a group affiliated with the DeVos family, said the children deserved “safe open classrooms.” The bosses also appeared frustrated.
“Teachers have always focused on doing the best we can for the learning and growth of our community. We relied on health professionals to guide us in the safest way to do so and any change in that or expect teachers alone to make those decisions in the wrong way, ”said Robert McCann, executive director of the K-12 Alliance in Michigan, a federation.
The restaurant industry group, which has a capacity of 50 percent, called the governor’s recommendation “lost.”
The Republican legislature, which has fought to the limit, has said it is encouraged that it does not strengthen them. Despite the increase, House Speaker Jason Wentworth said Whitmer should remove the remaining restrictions and “trust the people of this province to do what is right for themselves and their families.”
The Michigan High School Athletic Association said it would complete the boys ‘and girls’ basketball tournaments on Friday and Saturday. The organization said spring games are all out and the spring season has very few social media games.
“School districts will take local decisions in the coming weeks for spring games depending on local circumstances and circumstances,” MHSAA executive director Mark Uyl wrote in a written statement.
Covid-19 has been linked to the deaths of nearly 17,500 people in Michigan, including 26 more on Friday. More than 577,000 people have recovered since last week.
